Buddy Class

We had buddy class with room 1 in the Juniors I didn't have a buddy so I took pictures with my friend, They talked about what are their favourite things to do and what are their favourite food and stuff, here are the pictures we took.

Film Festival!

For our film festival we did valuable life lessons and we had to go to Sylvia park to go to the cinema's and watch the films that our school made. We also watched other schools film and it was hilarious, we sang songs while waiting for our turn to go to the big screen.

YMCA!

We practised dancing YMCA for our assembly and it was hilarious and fun. You can see me at the end and I'm the Indian guy and my friend in the front is the DJ and my friend next to the DJ is the cowboy and the guy next to me is the Australian.

Halloween

I dressed up as a zombie and I wore a zombie mask and black clothes. Halloween also known as AllHalloween or All Hallows' Eve. The scariest moment of my life was when I saw a jump scare of a ghost on the TV.   

New theme for the term

We had a new theme for term 4 and it was excellence we had to write how we show excellence on a excellence poster and we had to write excellence in different languages like Maori and make it in sentences.

Our School Clothes

My class had to write if we want school clothes or just regular clothes. I wanted to keep school clothes because we are representing our school with our school clothes and some people chose no, we taped them on our class window.  

First Day Of Term 4!

The first day of term 4 was exciting but nothing really changed, we had to tell what we did in the holidays and when the bell rang we had to line up and go to the syndicate assembly. We also made pencils to show what we did in the holidays, I went camping in One Tree Hill.  

Awesome Duffy assembly

We had a Duffy assembly and we had Georgia Hale come to or school and talk about reading. Georgia Hale played rugby, netball and touch football for New Zealand. When she finished school she started playing rugby league with the Richmond roses.    

We had to pick 4 books from the magazine and at the assembly they handed out books in a box so we could take it home and read them so we could improve our learning. 

Volcanoes erupt in class

My volcano has been complete but there is one more thing to do... erupt my volcano, I will need vinegar, baking soda, food colouring to make my lava explode. 

Number Fact Families

Number fact families is a maths game where they give you 3 numbers and plus and minus sign. Then you have to guess and make up the numbers that will equal to the right number. For example 3-2=2 or 4+5=9. 

Adding up money

Our classroom did math problems with money, we had groups and we had to count up the money and see how much there are. My team won on the first round but we lost on the second round, it was really fun adding up money.

Becoming a volcano

Today we have been working on our volcanoes and some of our volcanoes are looking like towers but mine is becoming more like a volcano, I just need more layers.

Volcano Paper Mache

We made paper mache volcanoes and we had to get a bottle and stick it to the cardboard, and we had to crunch up the newspaper and stick it around the bottom of the bottle. It is really fun but really hard to make a perfect volcano.  

Magic school bus film making

We have been learning about changing landscapes and how volcanoes and earthquakes are made, me and my group made a film about hurricanes and we also made a school bus with the whole class.

Measuremet

Today we did a class measurement and we got into pairs so we could measure stuff like doors, windows, our buddies shoes  and our chrome books. my buddy Precious's height was 156 cm and i was 139 cm long.   

Book Day Costumes

 On Friday we are going to dress up as a book character and we have to give the teachers a gold coin. I made a Ginger Bread Man mask but i changed my mind to a blue Power Ranger mask and my friend did a red power ranger and a black power ranger.

A recount writing is about rewriting or

retelling something that you did in

Glen Taylor's Middle and Senior's Student Playground

                                                           
This is the playground, every time the middles go to it and play on the play on it. The flying fox is the most popular part of the playground but the seniors don't really go on the playground. Did you know? That the playground was invented as a platform for teaching children correct ways to play and the first playground                                                              was build in 1859 at England.

My Goals

Mingalaba my name is Evan. I am a year six student in Glen Taylor School, I'm in Room Nine. My culture is Burmese and I have a mom and a dad, one brother and one sister.
I am a proud and confident Glen Taylor School student and I am a proud New Zealand Kiwi and I love learning at Glen Taylor School. I hope you like my blog.
I am really good at spelling. Every time my friends ask me how to spell something. And I am good at typing fast. I really enjoy typing and playing games.
My challenges are to beat Ms. Ly’s typing speed and, this year, get better at maths and writing.    
The thing that I'm looking forward to this year is to take our Chromebooks home so I can do my homework on it.
The person who inspires me is my teacher because she helps me with my work when I’m stuck. She also tells really funny jokes.
This term we have been learning about keeping ourselves safe so we have been writing about ways we can keep yourself safe from people and things.
