The Ancient Sasa
Glen Taylor School performed the Sasa at assembly and it was really fun. The Sasa is a traditional dance for Samoa, Boys and girls can both do the Sasa and they mostly sit down but there are some parts when you have to stand up. there are a lot of clapping in the Sasa and the Sasa became one of the interesting dances in Samoa, the movements are based on everyday life like: fishing, catching birds, cooking the umu and cleaning and voyaging.
In the Sasa they begin when they say tulolo which means to bow their heads and nofo which means to stand up straight and tulolo to bow their heads and their hands straight in front of them. The Sasa was first performed in the island of Samoa and in the Samoan village.
